The Best Cleaning and Organizing Apps for a Clutter-Free Home

Keeping my home clean and clutter-free is important to me, but it can be a challenge to stay on top of it all. That’s why I rely on some great apps to help me organize, schedule cleaning tasks, and keep track of what needs to be done. These apps have been game-changers for getting my home in order!

General Cleaning Apps

Tody

Tody is hands down my favorite app for keeping my home clean. It’s an intelligent to-do list for cleaning specific areas and rooms in your home.

  • When you first set it up, you go through each room and enter the tasks needed to clean it thoroughly.
  • You can set customized frequencies for each task.
  • Tody will then populate a to-do list and remind you when tasks need to be completed.
  • I love how it breaks cleaning down into small, manageable daily tasks instead of overwhelming monthly deep cleans.
  • The visual progress bars help keep me motivated.
  • It’s available for both iOS and Android.

I’ve been using Tody for months now and it has transformed how I maintain order in my home. I no longer feel like I’m constantly behind on chores. The daily reminders and guidance from Tody help ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

Sweepy

Sweepy is another cleaning schedule app, similar to Tody. You can build customized cleaning plans for each room.

  • The visual calendar makes it easy to see what needs to be done each day.
  • You can set reminders, track progress, and rearrange tasks.
  • It offers multi-user support so my partner and I can sync up on chores.
  • Sweepy is available on the web and iOS.

I like how flexible Sweepy is for setting schedules. The calendar view provides great oversight into upcoming cleaning. It’s a nice lightweight option.

Chore Monster

Chore Monster takes a more playful approach by turning chores into a game.

  • Each family member gets an animated “monster” avatar.
  • Chores are assigned point values based on difficulty.
  • When you mark a chore complete, your monster earns points and rises to the top of the leaderboard.

This app really works for families with kids. The game concept adds motivation to complete chores. The family calendar helps assign and track tasks. They recently added voice assistance and smart home integration for easier chore management. Chore Monster is available on iOS and Android.

Deep Cleaning Apps

When it’s time for seasonal deep cleans, these apps come in handy:

Flylady

Flylady is my go-to app when I need to thoroughly clean and declutter a space.

  • It guides you through detailed cleaning “missions” one zone at a time.
  • Daily and weekly emails provide cleaning tips and motivation.
  • The focus is on establishing good habits over time rather than marathon cleaning sessions.

I rely on Flylady most for the detailed zone cleaning checklists. Knowing exactly what needs to be done makes deep cleaning projects feel much more manageable. Flylady is available on the web and iOS.

Decluttr

Decluttr is great for maintaining clutter-free spaces.

  • It guides you through decluttering by location or item type.
  • Built-in timers help focus your decluttering sessions.
  • You can store notes, photos, and files of items you declutter.
  • It also includes cleaning and organization checklists.

I like using Decluttr’s model of doing short, consistent decluttering sessions. This prevents clutter from building up again. Decluttr is available on iOS and Android.

Home Organization Apps

Organization is key to maintaining a clutter-free space. These apps help keep areas tidy:

Sortly

I use Sortly to organize my closets, garage, pantry, and more.

  • You can create a visual inventory of items in any space.
  • Details like photos, locations, and quantities can be logged.
  • Items are easily searchable later when you need to find something.

Having a Sortly inventory has really helped me keep spaces organized. I no longer misplace things or buy duplicates. The app is available on iOS and Android.

ShelfEngine

My fridge and pantry stay organized thanks to ShelfEngine.

  • It tracks expiration dates on food items.
  • You can log grocery lists and items on-hand.
  • It builds a meal plan based on what needs to be used up.
  • The app sends notifications when food is expiring soon.

ShelfEngine cuts down on my food waste since I eat items before they expire. I always know exactly what’s available to cook for meals. ShelfEngine is currently available on iOS only.

ClosetSpace

ClosetSpace is my top app for keeping clothes organized.

  • You can log your wardrobe items and track where they are stored.
  • Outfits can be saved to streamline getting ready.
  • Marketplace alerts you when saved items go on sale.
  • There are handy features like clothing calendars, reminders, and outfit planning.

I’ve used ClosetSpace for years to maintain an organized closet and reduce clothing clutter. The outfit builder especially helps me get ready faster each day. The app is available for iOS and Android.

Automating and Optimizing Cleaning

These smart home apps help make cleaning a breeze:

Winston

Winston optimizes cleaning through AI and automation.

  • The robot vacuum integrates with the app to clean floors daily or on-demand.
  • Motion sensors enable real-time mapping and cleaning of high-traffic areas.
  • Winston learns cleaning habits over time for smarter scheduling.

I’ve found Winston to be a true hands-off cleaning solution. After the initial setup, the app manages scheduled cleanings so I can focus on other tasks. Winston is available as a direct purchase from the company.

Winbot

Winbot is a window cleaning robot that connects to Wi-Fi for app control.

  • It cleans windows autonomously using vacuum suction and cleaning pads.
  • The app lets you start and stop cleaning cycles or set schedules.
  • Sensors on the robot allow it to navigate windows and glass safely.

I never have to hassle with ladders and window spray again thanks to Winbot! It saves me so much time and effort. Winbot can be purchased directly from retailer sites.

Alfred

Alfred is a security camera that doubles as a home monitoring system.

  • It tracks how often and thoroughly you clean different rooms.
  • Chore reminders are generated based on room usage data.
  • You can confirm completed tasks by sending photo proof through the app.

I’ve found Alfred to be extremely convenient for managing chores. The app knows exactly when rooms require cleaning based on true usage. It takes the guesswork out of my cleaning schedule. Alfred is available for purchase on their website.
