Wash and Dry Your Pillows

One of the best ways to refresh pillows is to give them a wash. The water helps redistribute and lift the filling, restoring fluffiness.

When to Wash Pillows

I recommend washing pillows every 6 months. Signs that pillows need washing include:

  • Flat or limp feel
  • Musty or sour odor
  • Visible stains or discoloration

Down and foam pillows need more frequent washing than polyester or cotton pillows.

Washing Steps

Follow these steps to clean pillows:

  • Check care label instructions.
  • Use a mild detergent in warm or hot water.
  • Run pillows through a full wash and rinse cycle.
  • Dry pillows completely in the dryer with tennis balls.

Adding tennis balls helps separate clumps and redistribute filling.

Drying Thoroughly

Use a Tennis Ball Pillow Fluffer
