  • Changing bedsheets
  • Doing laundry
  • General tidying up and organizing

I aim to do regular cleaning tasks like these about once or twice a week. Regular cleaning removes everyday dirt, dust, and clutter to keep my home looking neat. However, it does not thoroughly sanitize or disinfect surfaces.

Deep cleaning is a more extensive cleaning process that reaches dirt and germs that regular cleaning does not. Deep cleaning aims to sanitize and disinfect the entire home to create a healthier living environment.

  • Washing walls, baseboards, and vents – These often get overlooked in regular cleaning. Over time, they collect lots of dust, dirt, and germs.

  • Cleaning inside kitchen appliances – The inside of your refrigerator, oven, and dishwasher need deep cleaning to remove hidden grime and bacteria.

  • Scrubbing tile and grout – Regular mopping does not remove built-up dirt and mildew from grout lines. They need occasional deep scrubbing.

  • Vacuuming furniture – Deep cleaning includes vacuuming couches, chairs, and mattresses to remove allergens and dust mites.

  • Washing windows and window treatments – Windows and blinds attract lots of dust and dirt over time. Deep cleaning makes them sparkling clean.

  • Cleaning out closets and storage spaces – Decluttering and deep cleaning closets, pantries, and storage spaces clears out dirt, dust, and clutter.

  • Take breaks – Pace yourself to avoid burnout. Take short breaks.
