Finally, one of the most profound lessons I’ve taken from meditation is the importance of cultivating compassion – not just for others, but for myself as well. As a cleaning professional, it can be all too easy to fall into a mindset of self-criticism, berating myself for missed spots or subpar results. But I’ve found that this approach is ultimately counterproductive.

Instead, I’ve learned to approach my work with a gentle, nurturing mindset. When I notice an area that needs extra attention, I don’t berate myself for my “failure” – I simply acknowledge it, and then focus my energy on addressing the issue with care and attention. And when I do encounter a particularly challenging cleaning task, I remind myself that I’m doing the best I can, and that’s all that really matters.

This compassionate mindset has had a profound impact on my work. I find that I’m able to approach each job with a sense of curiosity and openness, rather than anxiety and stress. I’m more attuned to the needs of my clients, and I’m better able to navigate the inevitable challenges and setbacks that come with the territory.
